The CISCO1841, also referred to as CISCO1841-T1, is an integrated services router in the Cisco 1800 Series of Integrated Services Routers designed to complement Cisco's Integrated Services Router Portfolio. The CISCO1841 is equipped to provide enhanced investment protection through increased modularity and performance while offering wire-speed productivity for concurrent services at T1/E1 WAN rates. The CISCO1841, using two High-Speed WAN Interface Card Slots is able to successfully increase density and support 90+ new and existing modules. The router boasts two integrated 10/100 Fast Ethernet ports, supporting the majority of existing WICs, VWICs, and data-mode only VICs.

Security features in the CISCO1841-T1 include support of up to 800 VPN tunnels, on-board encryption, Network Admission Controlled antivirus defense support, and Intrusion Prevention/Cisco IOS Firewall support in addition to other top-of-the-line security features.

The Cisco 1841 router is designed for secure data connectivity and provides significant additional value compared to prior generations of Cisco 1700 Series routers by offering more than a fivefold performance increase, integrated hardware-based encryption enabled by an optional Cisco IOS Software security image, and a dramatic increase in interface card slot performance and density while maintaining support for more than 30 existing WAN interface cards (WICs) and multiflex trunk cards (voice/WICs [VWICs]-for data only on the Cisco 1841 router) of the Cisco 1700 Series.
