The Cisco HWIC-8A is one of five serial and asynchronous high-speed WICs designed for the Cisco 1800, 2800, and 3800 series. The HWIC-8A has eight asynchronous EIA-232 ports and is ideal for low-density WAN aggregation. This HWIC offers support for the lead manipulation feature as well as the ability to measure the incoming clock rate of synchronous ports in DTE mode.
