The Cisco Systems NM-1GE is a single-port Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Network Module providing Gigabit Ethernet optical and copper connectivity for access routers. The NM-1GE is supported on the following platforms: Cisco 2691, 3660, 3725, 3745, 3825, and Cisco 3845 series routers. This network module boasts one GBIC slot equipped to carry any regular optical or copper Cisco GBIC. This feature allows flexibility to use distinct GBICs depending on what works best for your particular circumstances (ie, existing infrastructure, distance, future expansion, cost, etc.) With the NM-1GW, branch offices can utilize high-speed uplinks in a cost-effective way within a multitude of environments including the ability to connect to MANs.
