The Cisco WS-C1912-A is a 12-Port 10BaseT Switch with 2 100BaseTX Ports and a member of the Catalyst 1900 switches family manufactured by Cisco Systems. The WS-C1912-A improves network performance to the server, desktop, and backbone, particularly in networks that deploy bandwidth-intensive applications, use high-performance workstations and servers, transfer large graphic or video files, and require access to the same network resources. This switch has an AUI switch port on the back panel, and each port provides users (or groups of users) dedicated 10-Mbps bandwidth to resources within the network. These ports that come on the WS-C1912-A connect to other 10BaseT-compatible devices. It also has two 100BaseT switched ports for reliably delivering maximum performance to high-speed servers and to backbone switches and routers.

The WS-C1912-A is designed for plug-and-play operation. This means that it only requires you to assign basic IP information to the switch and connect it to the other devices in your network. If you have specific network needs, you may also configure the switch easily through its various management interfaces.
