As fixed-configuration models providing wire-speed connectivity for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, the Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series switches -- particularly the WS-C2950C-24 -- are perfect for small and mid-sized networks. The Cisco Catalyst 2950C 24 is not only affordable, but user-friendly, allowing easy management of intelligent services including enhanced security. The WS-C2950C-24 is equipped with twenty-four 10/100 ports along with two fixed 100BASE-FX uplink ports. The WS-C2950C-24's 100BASE-FX ports require 62.5/125 or 50/125 mircon multimode fiber-optic cabling and MT-RJ connectors.

This series is simple and user-friendly. All products in the Catalyst 2950 Series switches employ Cisco Device Manager software which simplifies desktop management. There is no need for complicated terminal emulation programs and the administrator does not need to have CLI (command-line interface) knowledge, meaning less-skilled administrators can successfully manage and troubleshoot the WS-C2950C-24.
