The WS-C3560G-24PS-S is one of four enterprise-class, fixed-configuration switches in the Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series. The Cisco Catalyst 3560G-24PS-S is the perfect access layer switch for your branch offices or small enterprise LAN access, combining both PoE configurations and 10/100/1000 for investment protection and high-level productivity while enabling hassle-free deployment of new applications such as wireless access, IP telephony, building management systems, video surveillance, as well as remote video kiosks.
With twenty-four Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports and four SFP Gigabit Ethernet ports, the WS-C3560G-48PS-S is a one-rack unit, multilayer switch. It delivers intelligent services to the network edge, providing enhanced usability and security. It comes with SMI (Standard Multilayer Software Image) already installed Cisco's respected prestandard PoE (Power over Ethernet) functionality. While still maintaining the simplicity and ease of traditional LAN switching, customers can benefit from network-wide intelligent services with the WS-C3560G-24PS-S like rate limiting, advanced QoS, multicast management, sophisticated access control lists and basic RIP routing along with static routing which may be upgraded at any time to full dynamic IP routing. Although the WS-C3560G-24PS-S offers a high degree of functionality, if you need high-performance IP routing or additional Ethernet ports, you may want to consider this model's slightly more productive big brother—the WS-C3560G-48PS-S.
