A dual-port back card for Cisco MGX 8800 Series Switches, the MGX-2GE – running on a driver of the same name - provides a Gigabit Ethernet trunk uplink to devices. In full duplex mode, the two IEEE 802.3z compliant interfaces on the MGX-2GE operate at 1 Gbps and support throughput using either multi-mode or single-mode fiber. Features of the MGX-2GE include 802.1q encapsulation support for VLANs, interface MAC address assignment and MAC address filtering, link management (auto negotiation) as well as flow control between Gigabit links. A used or new surplus MGX-2GE offers high-performance and efficient Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth.
