The Cisco ILPM-8 is an 8-port 802.3af-compliant inline power module for HWIC-D-9ESW (high-speed WAN interface card). The ILPM-8 is the high-performing power injector that allows Cisco's 10/100BASE-T Ethernet switch high-speed WAN interface cards to provide the scalability and reliability needed for network expansion. Although the ILPM-4 is a four-port power module, it is designed for the HWIC-4ESW while the ILPM-8 is the proper power module for delivering inline power to the HWIC-D-9ESW. If you are in the market to buy both the power module and the Ethernet switch HWIC together, the HWIC-D-9ESW-POE bundle includes both.
