Pre-Owned, Used And Refurbished Cisco AIM-VPN/SSL-2

The Cisco AIM-VPN/SSL-2 is one of three DES/3DES/AES VPN Encryption Modules manufactured by Cisco Systems (AIM-VPN/SSL-1, and AIM-VPN/SSL-3 are the other two.) The prerequisite for installing the AIM-VPN/SSL-2 is Cisco IOS software Release 12.4(9)T. You must also have a working IP Network. If both prerequisites are met, it is important to note the restrictions on the AIM-VPN/SSL-2 Encryption Module. First, Rivest, Shamir, and Adelman (RSA) encryption supports only 512, 1024, 1536, and 2048 bit keys. Customers should also be aware that to achieve maximum benefit from hardware-assisted IP Payload Compression Protocol (IPPCP), it is suggested that prefragmentation be disabled if IP compression with the Limpel Zif Stac (LZS) algorithm is enabled on IP Security (IPsec) sessions. In addition, hardware acceleration is supported only for clients that are connecting to an SSL VPN gateway using SSL2.0 or SSL3.0 protocols when the rc4-md5 encryption transform is configured on the SSL VPN gateway. If aes-sha1 or 3des-sha1 encryption transforms are used, those protocols are processed on the router by the Cisco IOS software. SSL VPN clients should be configured for version 1.0 of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol if you are using an encryption algorithm other than rc4-md5.

The Cisco AIM-VPN/SSL-2 is designed for, and should only be used on, the following routers: Cisco 2691, Cisco 2801, Cisco 2811, Cisco 2821, and Cisco 2851. If you are using Cisco 1841, then AIM-VPN/SSL-1 is recommended. And if you are using Cisco 3725, Cisco 3745, Cisco 3825, or Cisco 3845, then AIM-VPN/SSL-3 is recommended.
