Although this router offers the high-performance reliability you'd expect from Cisco, users in need of higher security should consider the CISCO2851-SAA/K9 with a feature set that includes Advanced IP Services and Cisco IOS Software Release 12.4(1). The CISCO2851-AA/K9, along with the other WAN optimization bundles, was first made available in 2005, and remains a reliable product. This router does not come with additional memory, but for most, the standard 64MB compact flash memory and 256 MB DRAM is sufficient.
