Pre-Owned, Used And Refurbished Cisco AIM-ATM-4T1

Cisco's AIM-ATM-4T1, or High Performance ATM AIM/E1 Bundle, AIM-ATM with two VWIC-2MFT-T1, was released as a replacement for the NM-4T1-IMA, NM-4E1-IMA, NM-8T1-IMA, and NM-8E1-IMA network modules that were introduced for the Cisco 2600 and 3600 Series in 1999 and discontinued by Cisco Systems on March 31, 2004. These multi-port ATM modules allowed service provider and enterprise customers to cost-effectively increase bandwidth and extend multiservice capabilities to remote branch office locations through ATM. Although they worked well, the recommended replacement product is the Advanced Integration Module for ATM (AIM-ATM) together with the T1/E1 Voice WAN Interface Cards (VWICs). A single AIM-ATM module supports up to 4 T1/E1 ports. In platforms with two AIM slots, two AIM-ATM modules can be used. T1/E1 VWICs are available with a density of 1 or 2 ports. The AIM-ATM allows flexible configuration of ATM ports. Depending on the requirements, between one and four ports can be used per AIM-ATM. The AIM-ATM has improved features and functionality, and similar performance levels to the NM-4T1-IMA and NM-4E1-IMA. In addition, the AIM-ATM solution together with VWICs does not require a Network Module (NM) slot, which can be used for other advanced services.

The AIM-ATM-4T1 is equipped with two T1 VWICs. This, as explained above, allows the router to support up to eight E1 ports. The improved functionality of the AIM-ATM itself makes a significant difference in the performance of this product compared to the original network modules.
