The Cisco PA-2FE-FX is one of two Dual-Port single-wide Fast Ethernet Port Adapters (along with the PA-2FE-TX) for Cisco 7200 and 7500 Series routers. The PA-2FE provides the highest packet throughput available from Cisco 7x00 Fast Ethernet interfaces, and is the preferred choice for Fast Ethernet connectivity for Cisco 7x00 Routers. The PA-2FE-FX is ideal for campus/enterprise backbones, data centers, high-performance routing between multiple Ethernet VLANs, and other deployments requiring line-rate Fast Ethernet connectivity. The PA-2FE-FX may be used in an open port-adapter slot on Cisco 7200 Series routers or in an open bay within Cisco second- and fourth-generation Versatile Interface Processors (VIP2 and VIP4) on Cisco 7500 Series routers.
